The Meter Reader comes out.

19 Dec

Roy Kronk is the meter reader. He’s 46 yr old, and a recent widower. He and his attorney are giving a statement on the case.

Roy just read from a prepared statement- basically what we already know. He reported the suspicious bag to crime line and the Sheriff’s office 3 times in August. He won’t release what else he saw at the crime scene. His attorney spoke briefly afterward- saying he came forward due to intense speculation about his identity and somewhat intrusive news gathering activities- he asks that his privacy and that of his co-workers be respected. He will not be granting any interviews at this time.

The family pastor visited the Anthony’s and said they are extremely devastated. Lee Anthony and the KidFinder people are at the home as well.

I would like to know what makes this meter reader so credible. Three previous tips and lo and behold, HE finds the remains. I personally need to find out more information because I think that is a bit bizarre. Could he possibly have more to do with this case? LE needs to release those previous calls he made, as the Defense could have a Heyday with this. I hope everything checks out but, you have to wonder if Casey was charged too soon.

So he really did see that bag back in August??

I will be most interested in what reason, if any, law enforcement gives for not checking it out then— Maybe they sent someone over there, but they encountered snakes, or hurricane weather, and were unable to get far enough into the brush?

I agree with diana. I don’t know if the situation is that she was charged to soon or if she had an accomplice. However as a widower this man could have anything going through his head. I truly believe that this man needs to be looked at closely before his testimony is considered credible and he is exonerated of any malice in this case. Don’t someone go just because you found a body. You may not have the right person behind bars or you may not have everyone involved behind bars.

Also, come to think of it, how is it Roy knew this was to do with Caylee, and not just a random bag of trash? Did it smell? If so that would make this a landmark case revolving totally on a smell…

The horrible smell of the car, and a suspicious smelling trash bag.

I agree did they arrest Casey to soon and is someone else involved? Lots more to think about.

Some dumb cop does a crappy job and now Casey should walk? Get real. There may be an explanation, even if it’s a poor one, for law enforcement to miss finding the body.Look at the facts and lies. Lets not blame the death on a shot from the grassy knoll!

Gimme a break….it’s not like cops aren’t given a ton of BS to deal with everyday! Who knows what the ONE deputy did or did not do when he went out to the site, how much time is he supposed to expend on a potential crime scene when likely there are active crimes to be dealt with??!?! People think the police have all the time in the world to deal with every “tip” that comes in…they DON’T. They need to help the living first, not belly crawl around looking for a trash bag in the brush. Not that I don’t think they should try, but they have way too much to deal with on a daily basis. I expect that the deputy in question is having some serious mental/emotional issues right now…he/she is a person just like us and missing that bag/remains are going to stay with that person forever, whatever the circumstances.

If the bag Kronk saw in August was the same one recovered in Dec. it shows several things.
One, the bag was there for months (unfortunately there are lazy cops out there). So Casey couldn’t have talked to Casey in July like she told the police.
Two, Casey didn’t appear to react properly. What do you expect, she put the bag there. Not a surprise to her that Caylee was dead.
IThree, it would be great if forensics could pin point the date of death close to June 15-16, But the time range may be hard to estimate. Let’s cross our fingers and hope one of the experts finds something. Personally, I’m hoping for a print or Casey’s DNA on the duct tape…..blame that on Zanny!
