A little more CRAZY leaks out in the case against ‘head case’ Casey Anthony!! Sarah Palin’s record- that dog don’t hunt! Even if you put lipstick on it!

I’m reading through the latest “document dump” in the Caylee Anthony case so- I will have a VERY INTERESTING update on that soon bc DAMN! But until then- whatever your political persuasion -pls enjoy these posts on America’s favorite political pitbull!

Now I think Sarah is a lovely woman- in the hot librarian sense, but as a candidate for Vice President – YIKES!!!! I’ve compiled just a brief link list of some stuff that should sufficiently warn you away.

First here’s a link for you to make a donation to a wonderful cause in her name:

I just came across something brilliant for McPain — its almost like lipstick, er, perfume on a pig let’s say. Sarah Palin wanting to charge rape victims for medical testing – rape kits- makes me very angry. So I’m going to donate to Planned Parenthood in her name- they will send her a thank you card telling her a donation has been made in her honor!! Its a great cause, tax deductible and she will hate it!! Its going viral on several blogs so pls pass it along. Here’s how:

Make a donation to Planned Parenthood in Sarah Palin’s name.

Here’s the link to the Planned Parenthood website:
Wonderful Cause

Select donate, then honorary gifts.

You’ll need to fill in the address to let PP know where to send the “in Sarah Palin’s honor” card. I think its polite to send it to the McPain campaign headquarters:

After elected mayor of Wasilla in 1996, one of Palin’s first victims was
Irl Stambaugh, the longtime police chief who opposed her NRA-backed plan
to allow concealed guns. Then, too, he wanted to close the bars at
2am, instead of 5am, due to the high number of
alcohol-related road accidents. But as the bar owners and NRA were among
her base, Palin axed him. She then installed her own chief, who, besides
following her line on bars and guns, slapped a charge of $300 to $1,200 on rape victims for medical tests for injuries and sexually transmitted diseases–fees previously covered by the city. Since medical staff at the same time also offered morning-after pills to rape victims, this was anathema to Palin’s anti-abortion agenda. Outraged, then-Democratic
Governor Tony Knowles pushed through a bill banning her tactics, and the
tests were once again free.

AFTER you’ve read through everything- here’s a PBS poll as to her competency and SHOCKINGLY its a close one!!

Top Ten Sarah Palin Scandals

Here’s a great compilation that everyone should read- thanks to the link above which has linked in cites for all the info.

And now, for those of you who want some vetting of this unknown person who’s just been jetted into the national limelight, here are the top ten Sarah Palin scandals (and for a woman who’s been in office for less than two years, it’s an impressive list):

[Update: September 12. Due to the increasing number of scandals coming out day by day, I’ve reordered the list to reflect what are in my opinion the ten most important as of today, with runners up listed afterwards. The original list of 10 posted on August 30th appears at the end. Please note that people commenting before the 4th are commenting on the original list.]

September 14th: The Red Cross needs your donations to help victims of Ike and Gustav. Donate here.

Factcheck Update: reports that McCain is lying about Obama and Palin’s record. Read the report about McCain’s lies here.

#10. Iron-Fistgate – Sarah Palin ruled her small town Wasilla with an iron fist. Can we say “female Dick Cheney”? Even conservative commentator David Brooks of the NY Times concedes that Palin does little to reassure voters about their biggest concern about McCain: that he just doesn’t have the temperament to be President. And her speech at the convention reinforces that impression. Oh really, you say? Read today’s NY Times article about her intimidation tacticts. Coming in at number ten since painting Palin as the “hero mayor of the small towns” opens up her small town history for scrutiny.

#9. Kidgate. Palin is staunchly anti-abortion and has a Down Syndrome child to prove it. Certainly making a choice to give birth to and raise such a child is courageous – and will be at least as appealing as Biden’s personal backstory – but many women will wonder how she can decide to leave such a child while campaigning for the White House, and at her judgement to get pregnant in her mid-forties, after already having four children, knowing the risk of having a child with such a disease (or was this an example of what happens when right-to-lifers don’t use contraception?). Many think that all this, combined with her membership in “Feminists for Life,” an anti-abortion group, seems like she’s exploiting a baby for ideology. This could turn most women off, although some Clinton aides see this scandal as sexist. Coming in at number nine as it’s still getting play in the media, though down a bit given that there are other, more salient political scandals coming out, and Republicans are determined to turn this story into a feel-good plus, while whitewashing her anti-abortion background. (Sept 10: Regarding that: Andrew Sullivan argues that her decision to have Trig is a plus for Palin. Lucia de Vernai in the American Chronical argues that Palin’s example of ditching Trig while she campaigns hurts women by being hypocritical about family values. My assessment: if this issue gets spun around baby Trig and the family, Palin will come out like a celebrity mom. If it focuses on Palin’s views about abortion and women’s roles, she’ll be seen as out of the mainstream. But so far the former, not the latter, seems to be winning in the press.)

#8. Censorgate. She asked her town librarian if the library “could live with censorship of library books. (Note that disputes that the librarian was fired. Wait…fact-checking factcheck, now it appears she DID fire the librarian, but then re-hired her after an outcry). Still, coming in at eight as it signals most succinctly to voters that she’s the darling of the hard right. And this fired/not-fired fracas is just keeping it in the news.

#7. Mayberrygate: Palin fired the Wasilla police chief because he was trying to clean up drinking and concealed weapons in the town. Coming in at number seven because it’s the delicious kind of small-town backdealing story that seems to be where this campaign will be headed.

#6. Hockeygate. The Hockey rink she built in Wasilla required raising taxes and sinking the town in debt. Can we say “George W. Bush”-style conservatism?

#5. Bricknergate. Palin’s preacher invites a speaker to spew anti-semitic nonsense while she sits in the audience and listens. Also, her own church sounds as crazy as anything dished out by Obama’s. Can we say Reverend Wright? Coming in at number five: this one has the potential to turn off crucial Jewish voters in the two key states of Ohio and Florida. If McCain loses either of those states, he’s done.

#4. Bridge-to-Nowheregate. She was for it before she was against it. Coming in at number four since she brought it up again in her speech: this one will receive real press scrutiny. (Hey: and it’s starting to, with Obama bringing it up today.)

#3. Porkgate – Palin lobbied Washington for frivolous funds. All this coming in at number three since it contradicts the whole Republican theme that this is a team of outside “reformers.”

#2. Oilgate. She’s vetoed legislation for wind and solar energy and is securely in the pockets of big oil (her husband works for British Petroleum). She’s even willing to let polar bears die for oil. Coming in at number two because as Nate Silver points out, “taking on the oil industry” for Sarah Palin means getting them to drill more and cough up more scratch for Alaskans. This is a “put Alaska first” policy not a “put America first” policy. Since she’s making Alaskan oil the centerpiece of her campaign, I expect to see a long piece on this in the New Yorker.

#1. Troopergate. She fired her public safety commissioner because he refused to fire a state trooper who was the ex-husband of her sister and engaged in a bitter custody battle. Can we say “Bush Administration”? Still number one because it’s going to produce the biggest bang when reports are released in October.

Haven’t heard about Troopergate? Want more on the deliciously “Northern Exposure Meets Nixon”-esque intricacies of the abuse-of-power scandal rocking sleepy Alaska? Read about it here.

Search for Caylee being called off :(

People were crying in the background today, as it was announced that they are calling off the search for Caylee Anthony. Well, at least postponing it. Tim Miller, from announced that due to environmental issues- namely too much water- they are going to call off the search. Many people are speculating that they have found something, and some have said police tape has cordoned off a particular area. Others say that they are worried about search efforts, airboats and ATVs further submerging or damaging a tiny body, most likely located under water. Please say a prayer for Caylee and visualize her being found. Visualize the headline- Caylee Anthony has been found. I don’t want to visualize a body, just on the way off chance that she’ll be found alive- so I light a candle and say a prayer- just that she will be found!

In other crazy news, George and Cindy pulled up in their driveway today, I think returning from church and George got into an altercation w/some of the protesters. Supposedly, he approached them– with a hammer in his hand– and shoved a man and an elderly woman before his son Lee came and removed the hammer from his hand and defused the situation. Yikes. I’m sure that he was just bringing that hammer in from his car and had temporarily taken leave of his senses but to shove people especially a woman!! That’s just unacceptable. I completely disagree w/those protesters and can’t imagine how that helps the situation or makes them feel better but George seems to have anger management issues and I hope he’s able to step back.

I cannot even begin to fathom what that family is going through right now. I am still holding onto my belief that they are just so deep in denial that they can’t see the truth quite yet. Many are speculating on some involvement in the deed or at least in the cover-up with Cindy and George’s involvement but I just can’t believe that. I think that it was ill advised to wash clothes and remove evidence from the car but I also have to put some blame on the police who left the car in their custody. I think they have put blinders on and can only zero in on the possibility that their granddaughter is alive and therefore have to believe Casey and all of her completely unbelievable lies.

Its interesting to me that Casey changed her story to –the kidnapping occurring at Jay Blanchard Park w/Zanny the nanny and her sister Sam w/her toddlers in tow in a silver Ford whatever having jumped her and stolen Caylee giving her a script to follow for 30 days. I mean you really have to be drinking the kook-aid to believe this story. To me this sounds like a concoction from Casey- after having had LOTS of time to FIX her story while sitting in jail. So in order to cover up for her ridiculous lies including …letting LE (law enforcement) take her all the way up and into Universal Studios where she strode purposefully down the hall towards “her office” before finally stopping and admitting- I lied- I don’t work here. So, in order to cover up for all of those lies she just merely concocts another character -Samantha and says that she and Zanny told her to tell all of those outrageous lies- giving her a script to follow. Crazy much?

In other interesting news that has jaws flapping and people wildly speculating– Lee Anthony left the house WITH POLICE today. Now, who knows why, but the speculation is raging and ranging from it having to do w/some type of fraud in the raising and spending of money people have donated to the family’s paypal account –or their “find Caylee” account –to it being related to the hammer confrontation on the Anthony’s lawn today, which Lee helped break up.

So, who knows what the hell is going on?  I’m trying to get back to life and work as usual and stop obsessing about this case. Volunteered at a really great function tonight where we helped 140 Title 1 elementary school children shop at JC Penney for $130 worth of back to school clothes. That was so much fun!!  So, again, let’s all pray for Caylee and visualize her being found!

Oh, forgot to mention the 20/20 show– it was really well done I thought and also quite brief. I wonder if they became intimidated from all of the negative backlash?  I’m sure they paid the Anthony family some money -NOT for the interview, mind you, bc that would be unseemly, but for licensing the photo/video. In any case, if the Anthony’s thought that was going to be a favorable piece…they were sadly mistaken. Its hard, I guess, to portray Casey and her actions in a favorable light- I would LOVE to hear how they would try. That would be the best spin job ever. Pray for Caylee!
